A Lizard in the House
This is a watercolor painting called A Lizard in the House. The other night, a lizard (about 2 inches long) slipped into the house. The boys were on it immediately, but it scampered up the walls to the ceiling. While it make the rounds of the ceiling, the boys kept an eye on it at all times. This is during one of the times that the lizard just sat there and waited for the boys to go away. They did not. I finally went to bed. They were still on duty.

Slip Sliding Along...
This little guy almost slid right off the page while I was painting him. He was rushing for his ball and it almost got away from him.
5 by 7... acrylic painting on canvas board.

Sketch Cat4
Oh...oh... had so much to do last week that cat-a-day turned into cat-a-week. No problem. Sketched this little guy and tomorrow I'll be back on track.
Have a great evening.

Abstract Cat 1
I bought some new, vibrant colors and thought that I'd try a little abstract piece with them. This guy is 9" x 12" on 140 pound hot pressed paper. He's done in acrylic paint and will be framed in a plain black frame.
I haven't decided on a price for him yet. He just might go into my abstract collection for future inspiration.

Upside-Down...
I don't know this little guy's name. A friend sent it to me for painting practice. Thanks Helen. Painting an upside down cat was a challenge.

Sketching on a Rainy day...
Sketched this cat this morning while the rain was falling and the wind was blowing.... We're having glancing blows from Tropical Storm Andrea.... today... Not too bad right now. But this guy looks like a cat easy to snuggle up to...
Hope you're having a dry day.

Sketch: The Family of Cats
This one is just a rough sketch of The Family of Cats piece I'm planning to do. It'll be 18 by 24 when I finish. Seeing this, I've decided to make it with a variety of colors and kinds of kitties...not just Bugsy's and Knuckles's. Tomorrow I'll begin sketching out the real thing.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by yesterday.... come when you can. I love reading your comments.

Gray Kitty #1
This is Gray Kitty #1... So far he's in pencil and just a sketch. I'll try him as a regular portrait soon. At times, it's more difficult to paint cats who are all one color than those with many. Have to work to get the shading just right.
Have a great day.

Bugsy Sketch on the Carpet
Bugsy on the carpet.... For a few days now, I've been sketching the cats. Unfortunately, my card reader was on the fritz, so I couldn't post them. I'll catch up in the next few days.
In this pose, he had all his legs and feet tucked in and looked like a meatloaf with a tail and head. Might make an interesting painting one of these days.

Preliminary sketch of Noodles the DJ
Noodles the DJ will be the first in my series "Cats with Shades". Completed this preliminary sketch this morning. The shades, of course, will be shaded. And, I need to work on his sneer a little more as it is, in real life, more of an Elvis sneer,.
He'll come along as I shape him into the real Noodles....
